Be Thankful

We've started the "Thankfuls" in our house, in fact we started them several days ago, and every night at dinner while we are all sitting around the table we share what we are thankful for in that moment. And when I say "in that moment", sometimes it feels very in the moment and sometimes its more big picture, but generally speaking, its tough to get Avery out of the moment, she is often thankful for the sandwich on her plate, or the dog sitting next to her...Olivia tends to be more thoughtful and more often than not lands on "I am thankful for my Mommy & Dadddy", which likely is a ploy given she knows Christmas is just around the corner.

I will start to share our Thankfuls as the days go on, and I have a lot to catch up on, but thought I would throw the idea out there so others could join along if they weren't already doing so.  We have a "Thanksgiving" wall hanging from PB Kids, and I am thinking about cutting up construction paper into "paper chain" sized pieces, putting our thankfuls on those pieces store them in the daily pockets of the wall hanging and then we can make our holiday paper chain out of it...just a thought. Part of me likes to capture it in a journal so we can compare year over year, so possibly the paper chain idea won't see the light of day, we shall see.

I love the chain idea! What a great idea to bring the two holidays together. Aren't you the woman who keeps 5 calendars? I bet you can manage to write them in two places...

I definitely like the idea of putting them all in a journal that you use year after year so you can see how the thanks change as the kids get older!
