All too soon...

The days of my beauties talking back to me have arrived all too soon.  Let me detail the scene for you...

When: 4:45am this morning
What: Avery wakes up

Note: The Sun does NOT rise until almost 7am - no way am I ready to get up at 4:45am, the child has clearly lost her mind.

I fight with her for about an hour to go back to bed, I lose and end up sleeping on the floor next to her crib. I attempt to crawl away at one point and get busted, she wakes, fusses and I crawl back to my make-shift bed with my tail between my legs and head down, my 2 year old has won....again.

7:10am - I hear Olivia's door knob opening and realize that it is time to wake up and I have overslept on the hard floor of my two year old's room.

I get up, Avery gets up, I attempt to shower in peace, but find Avery acting out her broken record act "I need you, I need you, I need you" and I can't even get a word in edgewise to calm her down or tell her that I am right behind the shower curtain, she just keeps wailing. I finally yell above her broken record act and tell her she needs to stop fussing and listen to me, and I also ask her to stop crying.  She continues to scream and wail, all while screaming "I stop crying, I stop crying, I stop crying", another broken record routine.  Olivia ends up distracting her so I can finish the shower in peace, and I make a mental note to give Olivia anything she wants for the rest of the day, she just saved me from a nervous breakdown.

Fast Forward to me getting ready in the bathroom.  Avery says "I listen now", I think to myself "Wow, progress", so I say "Okay Honey time to get your panties on" and she quickly responds "NO", and I shake my head as in 'what just happened here, didn't she say she was going to listen?'. So I say "Avery, you just said you were going to listen to Mommy", without batting an eye, she places a hand on her hip, turns to look at me and says "I HEARD YOU", and what she meant was "I did listen, but I didn't say I was going to do what you said"...all too soon my friends, all too soon. This is karma in its truest form, I slung the 'tude at my dear, dear Mother, but I was a late bloomer, and didn't start until closer to 15...2 is a tad on the early side, in my opinion.
