Check Up's All Around

Both of the girls saw Dr. S today for check ups...

Sweet Avery's head has grown again, so that means we are headed to a Pediatric Neurologist (Dr. R) on August 19th to have her checked out. Dr. S (Our Ped) mentioned something about Radiation, but I have no idea what she was talking about and I didn't ask any follow up questions, very unlike me I know, but I was a little nervous about her answer, especially since Brad wasn't able to join me at the appointment, I wasn't prepared for what might have come out of her mouth. The good news, well I am calling it good news, is that her heart murmur is very faint, however Dr. S said she would check it again at her 6 month check up, so now I am wondering if she just didn't want to refer me to two specialists in one visit and will wait to send us to the Pediatric Cardiologist in a few weeks. Oh Vey! Avery weighed in at 18lbs 5oz (97%). That is two pounds in just a month.

Olivia had her 2 year Check up today as well. She weighed in at 30lbs 5oz (75-90%) and measured 35 inches in length (75-90%) and her head measured in at the 97% as well. You might be wondering why they are so worried about Avery considering Olivia has a big mellon as well, but the difference is, Olivia's head has always been in the 97%, Avery's has grown very quickly.
She got one shot and had her blood tested, her iron levels were fine and she shed a few tears from the finger prick and shot, but was fine once the First Aid Bandage was put on her leg (We are not allowed to use the word Bandaid in this house since Brad sells a different brand). We wanted to have Olivia's feet looked at, but she wouldn't cooperate, she kept walking on her toes, so we didn't get a good assessment, so we will just keep an eye on it.

We also scheduled Olivia's first Dentist Appointment, she goes on August 31st...and I can already tell its going to be a battle. She has been a tad bit bratty the last few days, I am hoping she is just punishing me for being away for a week, but its likely just the beginning of the Terrible Two's.

Sorry to hear there's concern about Avery's head. I know this will be a long two weeks. Try not to worry!!
